Types of Screw-In Pile Design
Our engineers and estimators consider your geotechnical information to determine the best pile installation for your site. We will leverage our extensive experience and local knowledge to minimise the meters of piling required while still ensuring full compliance with codes and standards. Our expert team provides a thorough process of land and soil evaluation. Based on these results, we can then design screw-in pile systems at the length required to suit your project needs. All with our industry-leading Blade Pile product for maximum foundation quality.
The Benefits of Our Screw-In Pile Design
Our design pile foundations are based on rigorous research. We follow the highest industry standards to ensure our screw-in pile system offers an unbeatable foundation for success.
- Enhanced load capacity
Our meticulous design process ensures we choose the right piles for your construction project. We target loads of 250 kN (25 tonnes). Our products can support even the heaviest of structures. - Overcoming challenging soil conditions
Pile design ensures you can lay foundations on even the most challenging ground. Whether it’s soft clay, loose sand, expansive soil, or sites with high water tables that do not suit conventional concrete tiers. Our team’s evaluation process will determine how to handle your project. - Cost-savings
There’s maximum economic efficiency with pile design. Through analysis of your requirements, we can determine the most cost-effective route for your project. - Durability and sustainability
By planning for Blade Pile screw-in pile systems, you choose an environmentally friendly construction process. It limits soil excavation and overall site disruption. All with added long-lasting performance thanks to our thorough pile design process.
Choose In-House Pile Design for Accuracy, Durability and Sustainability
At Solid Metal Piling, our mission is to deliver in–house pile foundation design, with tailored solutions for your project’s needs.
Pile Foundation Design from an Expert Team
Our team of in-house, expert qualified piling engineers provide constant support for your slab design engineers. This ensures design efficiencies are maximised.
Real-Time Reports for Data-Driven Decisions
Live operating software logs all empirical data from your site. Data is relayed in reports detailing pile location, depth and total metres installed. Real-time monitoring from our construction and engineering teams ensures data-driven decision-making.
Thorough Project Transparency
Our expert team will consider your engineering and geotechnical feeds and provide direct feedback. We always endeavour to design a cost-effective piling solution for all of our customers.
Total Industry Compliance
We always strive to match AS2159-2009 and AS2870-2011 for the minimum Australian standards compliance. This ensures we offer safety and quality to all of our customers.
Frequently Asked Questions
After surveying land, we’ll determine whether to use piles that are concrete, steel or timber. Factors that influence this decision include soil conditions, load requirements and construction methods (such as driven or drilled piles).
The actual pile design process is meticulous. There’s a:
- Site investigation (geotechnical survey) to consider soil properties, stratification, and groundwater.
- Load calculation to determine the weight your foundation must hold.
- Pile type and material selection for the soil conditions and load requirements.
- Survey to determine pile length, diameter, blade size, and length based on soil capacity and safety requirements.
- Structural design of the pile cap and connecting details, thus delivering an effective load transfer.
Our engineers consider the loads your engineer needs us to achieve. We then study the geotech report you have provided us looking for the depth the soil becomes strong enough to support the required loads after the safety factors detailed in AS2159 have been applied.
The piling code AS2159 requires screw piles to still support 100% of the load after 50 years. We design to this code every time!
Our standard Blade Piles will achieve this in soil conditions deemed by AS2159 to be MODERATELY corrosive to steel sections.
If your site is deemed SEVERELY corrosive, then we will address this at the design stage. Solid Metal Piling holds extensive stocks of galvanized piles locally so there will be no delays to your project waiting for piles to be coated.
