Advantages of a Screw Pile Foundation

Fast installation

Screw piles are a lot quicker to install than concrete piers. They are also a one-step solution requiring significantly less plant resulting in a far reduced impact on the building site and local infrastructure. Unlike concrete piers, screw piles can be installed in inclement weather. If you are installing screw piles now or have the plant and equipment required to install them, we’d love the opportunity to work with you. We offer a complete design and certification service for our valued distributor customer base.

Easy installation

Standard earthmoving equipment fitted with hydraulic powerheads makes the job simple and efficient.

Exceptional strength

Solid Metal Piling uses higher tensile strength steel, which means we can apply greater torsional forces to the piles and therefore generate significantly higher structural loads.

Reduced carbon footprint

Transporting and installing steel piles requires less energy, plant and equipment than concrete piers. Heavy trucks required to transport the soil from the pier holes are not required. At the end of the building’s life, piles can simply be unscrewed and the steel recycled.

Cost-effective

No concrete pump or skid steer hire required, no spoil is generated to be removed from your site and to pay to be dumped.

AS2870

Has your project been specified with concrete piers?

Not a problem – you can still switch to our superior system without re-engineering! Leading engineers across NSW are familiar with our patented product and will approve our AS2870-compliant pile alternative.

2.0 Installation

Qualified and licenced installers measure and record torque readings for every single pile as it is installed. They enter the data into SMP’s operating software and sign a statutory declaration confirming its accuracy.

2.0 Installation

3.0 Data Assurances

Data verifies that each pile has met the specified loading. This is not a visual inspection - it relies on results from the torque generated during the installation.

3.0 Data Assurances

4.0 Installation Report

We’re the first in our industry to issue a same-day report detailing pile location, depth, and total metres installation.
